During the Summer of 2021, I held an Internship for Marketing and Graphic Design at Goodwill Industries of Dallas. This was my first internship and the entire marketing department for all of Dallas consisted of me and my boss, Jose Palos. My very first assignment was to create a 2-up flyer that would announce the grand opening of a new location in Plano that would be distributed to all of the Goodwill stores in the Dallas Metroplex. The task I had was to make a grand opening announcement that would appeal to a trendy and fashion-focused audience by displaying the brand in a new light as this would appeal to a wider variety of demographics and would ensure a successful grand opening. My specific role was to create an eye-catching front while Jose would contribute to the back of the flyer. We printed and distributed 5,000 flyers across DFW, and in addition to printed materials I created an animated GIF version that was posted to our social media pages which resulted in an over 300% increase in engagement with over 30,000 interactions.
